On Friday evening Dominic Mc Hugh and Frank Trainor won the Dr John Mc Hugh Memorial Cup defeating Sammy Smyth and Eamonn Cassley in the final.
This tournament started out with 56 pairs and both these pairs had already performed well in previous rounds to reach the final. Dominic and Frank certainly had John smiling down on them and they were just a little too hot for Sammy and Eamonn.
The match finished at the 15th but with birdies winning 13,14 and 15th you get some idea of the standard of golf.
Well done to both pairs and especially to Dominic on winning his dad’s cup.
